CLEANING THE COVER
Following are the standards step of cleaning a hot tub cover.
1. Fill a spray bottle with 2 cups water and half the quantity with vinegar.
2. Remove the cover from the vessel and put it out in the open.
3. On the area of the cover on which the mold is growing, spray the vinegar and water solution. Spray enough so that it covers the entire layer of mildew.
4. Having sprayed the vinegar solution on to the layer of mold and mildew, scrub it off with a cleaning rug. Continue to spray and clean until all of the mildew comes off.
5. Once the fungus has been removed from the cover, wipe off the cover with a clean dry cloth and leave to dry.
6. Do not put the cover back on the tub until it has dried completely.
The dirt and scum inside the spa water can also cause the mildew to attack the cover and other parts of the vessels, for example, the filters. In order to see to it that the cover does not get spoiled, regularly clean the spa as well as the spa water. Hot tubs need to be drained and cleaned once or twice in every six months. Mildew cannot thrive in clean conditions. Therefore, the cleaner the environment, the safer is your Downeast spa and spa cover. The vinegar solution is extremely helpful in thoroughly cleaning the spa.
